WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS, "Nothing Now But The Recordings", 31 x 31 cm
A vinyl test pressing from Industrial Records with an original Throbbing Gristle “SECOND ANNUAL REPORT” sleeve cover, white with the hand applied stickers. The TG information is scribbled through by Genesis P-Orridge and the actual title is hand written on. All the writing and additional “graffiti” are by Genesis P-Orridge who often doodled on test pressing. Generic TP labels on the A side, which has been signed by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge with the actual contents written on by hand by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, B side having an actual Industrial Records center label.
COMMENTS: One of only 3 of the original test pressings for this ground breaking album of spoken word tape recorder and cut-up experiments. This was the first time W. S. Burroughs had agreed to release an album dedicated to the Beat Hotel and later experiments with cut-ups of literature and audio sources. For decades everyone into Burroughs read about the Cut-Up tape recorder experiments especially but nobody but the original Beats and their close circle of friends had ever heard them. It took Genesis seven years to persuade Burroughs to collaborate on this project. Sleazy and Genesis flew to “The Bunker” in New York City‟s Bowery where they found dozens of amazing cassettes in shoe boxes! Then on to Lawrence, Kansas to listen to and catalog every single tape recording known to exist of the Cut-Ups. They listed every single edit with a rough verbal description. Next James Grauerholz joined to form a trio editorial committee. Eventually this collection of (at that time) never before heard experimental recordings that are still radical, amazing and modern was assembled. 23 minutes per side approximately. This item is pressed directly from the plates and has only been played once. |

VERA LYNN WITH GEOFF LOVE & ORCHESTRA, "Land of Hope & Glory b/w From The Time You Say Goodbye" 45rpm single, UK, 45-POP1111, Gramaphone Co. Ltd., 1963, 18,5 x 18,5 cm, Single.
The sleeve has an explanation hand-written on it by Genesis and is signed by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.
COMMENTS: Old patriotic record played by Genesis P-Orridge before Throbbing Gristle performances to be "ironic and cheeky". “We used to play this record sometimes before Throbbing Gristle gigs when we began with "Weapons (war sounds)" because this song was a big favourite with British troops in World War I. So it was very ironic in England..." |

GENESIS BREYER P-ORRIDGE
"Eva Adolf Braun Hitler"
2002, FilmStill, 30 x 40 cm, signed, dated and dedicated to „Peter", Unique |
|
COMMENTS: "The official version of the end of the Second World War is of course completely inaccurate. Adolf Hitler actually murdered Eva Braun and then escaped in her drag when the Russians were coming. In all the confusion they just burned somebody else‟s body next to hers. Adolf escaped and eventually, via various routes, got to America and is now living as a janitor in an old industrial building in the Midwest. However, through the guilt of having murdered the love of his life, and all the trauma of being who he is/was, he has become completely possessed by Eva. So he lives now as Eva Adolf Braun Hitler in this basement, in this boiler room. So that‟s the basic story. She‟s completely and utterly demented and suffering in hell. Yet she‟s almost prudishly politically correct about gender issues. Ha, of all things!"
